Legal
These terms govern your access to and use of the RegInfra TDS Compliance API and related services. Please read them carefully before using the platform.
By accessing or using the RegInfra API, website, or any associated services (collectively, "the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you are accessing the Service on behalf of a company or other legal entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service.
RegInfra is operated by its founders ("we", "us", "RegInfra"). The Service is currently in beta and subject to change. These Terms apply to all users, including free trial users, paid subscribers, and integration partners.
RegInfra provides a Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) compliance reasoning API built for the Indian market and compliant with the Income Tax Act 2025 (effective 1 April 2026). The Service calculates applicable TDS rates and amounts, stores decision reasoning per transaction, and returns structured audit-ready responses.
Current capabilities include TDS calculation and decision storage for 19 sections under the Income Tax Act 2025. Additional sections and features may be added over time.
Beta notice: The Service is currently in beta. Features, API structure, and pricing are subject to change. We will communicate material changes via email to registered users with reasonable notice.
You may use the Service solely for lawful business purposes related to TDS compliance in India. Permitted uses include:
You must not use the Service in any of the following ways:
RegInfra is a technology tool, not a tax advisor or Chartered Accountant. The Service provides TDS calculations and reasoning based on the rules encoded in our system as of the effective date. These outputs are intended to assist your compliance process, not to replace the judgment of a qualified tax professional.
We make reasonable efforts to keep our rule engine updated with current law, including the Income Tax Act 2025 and applicable Finance Acts. However, we do not warrant that every output is correct for your specific factual circumstances, that the Service reflects the most recent CBDT circulars at the exact moment of your request, or that the Service is a substitute for professional tax advice.
You remain solely responsible for the accuracy of your TDS deductions, filings, and payments. RegInfra shall not be liable for any tax demand, interest, penalty, or notice arising from reliance on the Service's outputs without independent professional verification.
Access to the Service requires an API key issued by RegInfra. You are responsible for keeping your API key confidential, all API calls made using your key, and notifying us immediately at contact@reginfra.com if you suspect your key has been compromised.
RegInfra reserves the right to revoke or rotate API keys at any time in response to security concerns, abuse, or non-payment.
Each subscription plan carries a monthly API call limit and a per-minute rate limit.
| Plan | Monthly calls | Rate limit | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free trial | 500 calls | 100 req/min | ₹0 / 30 days |
| Starter | 5,000 calls | 100 req/min | ₹4,999/month |
| Growth | 25,000 calls | 100 req/min | ₹14,999/month |
| Scale | 1,00,000 calls | 100 req/min | ₹39,999/month |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Custom |
Requests exceeding the per-minute rate limit will receive a 429 response. We reserve the right to suspend access for patterns of use that are abusive or materially exceed plan limits.
When you use the Service, we store the transaction identifiers, amounts, and dates you provide, PAN numbers (masked in logs), the TDS decision output and reasoning chain, and your API key identifier for attribution.
We do not sell your data to third parties. Transaction data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Render (Singapore region) with encrypted connections.
You are responsible for ensuring that any PAN numbers or personal data you submit are handled in accordance with applicable Indian data protection laws.
We target reasonable uptime and monitor the Service continuously. However, we do not guarantee any specific uptime SLA during the beta period. We will communicate planned maintenance windows in advance via email where possible.
Paid plans are billed monthly in advance in Indian Rupees. Unused API calls do not carry over to the next billing period.
You may cancel your subscription at any time by contacting us at contact@reginfra.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer pro-rated refunds for partial months unless agreed otherwise.
RegInfra reserves the right to change pricing with 30 days' written notice to existing subscribers.
RegInfra may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, fail to pay outstanding amounts, your use poses a security or legal risk, or we discontinue the Service.
Upon termination, you may request an export of your transaction data within 30 days by contacting us at contact@reginfra.com.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, RegInfra and its founders shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or any tax demand, penalty, or enforcement action arising from your use of the Service.
Our total aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed the total fees paid by you to RegInfra in the three months preceding the claim.
All intellectual property in the Service belongs to RegInfra. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service as described in these Terms. You retain ownership of your own transaction data.
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
Before initiating any legal proceedings, you agree to attempt to resolve disputes informally by contacting us at contact@reginfra.com.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to registered users by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of those changes.
The current version is always available at reginfra.com/terms.
The Service's 206AB applicability check is based on the information you provide in the API request — specifically the is_206ab_applicable field. RegInfra does not independently query the TRACES portal.
You are responsible for maintaining accurate and current 206AB status for each vendor in your systems and updating this status after the annual list refresh (typically post July 31 each year).
Important: RegInfra applies the higher rate only when you pass is_206ab_applicable: true. RegInfra is not liable for under-deduction arising from inaccurate 206AB data provided by the caller.
